WavPortTM Single Number Service (SNS) combines with the WavPort Unified Messaging (UM) feature server to enable carriers to provide a powerful single telephone number service. WavPortTM SNS integrates exclusive Pulsar technologies with the convenience of the Web to enable subscribers to truly manage incoming calls in ways never before possible.
Using WavPort SNS-equipped telephone service, subscribers can indicate how calls are managed on a per-contact or ANI basis. Using the WavPort SNS web interface, subscribers define general scheduling information, such as times at home, available by cellular phone, in the office or not available. They then align specific callers in their personal directory to either this schedule or to a single call destination, such as an office phone or voicemail. Subscribers also have the option of completely blocking any incoming calls from a particular ANI.
The power of WavPort SNS is in the system's exclusive web-based interface. Subscribers define one or more Route Lists, which identify the phone numbers to which various calls will be routed. Options for each Route List includes office, mobile, home, pager, voicemail and up to three additional, user-defined destination number choices. The pager destination can be an alphanumeric, email or data link (TNPP TAP/PET protocols) device.
Subscribers define whether the numbers in any given Route List are called sequentially or simultaneously in the broadcast mode. Subscribers also can assign time of day changes within each Route List, as well as start- and end-dates for holiday and vacation periods.
Carriers can provide subscribers with the option of selecting one of their existing numbers as their single point of contact, subject to any prevailing number portability tariff or technology considerations. Alternatively, carriers can supply a toll-free (800, 888, 877, 866) number for WavPort SNS.
